Pets of the week, Hens

Two background hens are the pets of the week.  These hens live in my neighborhood. The owners of the pets are members of Lexington Urban Chicken Keepers.   How did this happen? The chicks become pets after a science project experience in hatching eggs.  They (the hens) have lived in the neighborhood for the past year and half.

This month, our neighbors will now vote to see if we will amend the deed restrictions to allow pet chickens in our neighborhood.  This proposal does not include roosters. Whew! Who wants to hear roosters early in the morning?  This site provides more information.
