Good bye 2008

In a few hours, 2008 will be officially over. Words written by Fenelon over 300 years ago, provide comfort for me as this year ends...

"There is never peace in resisting God. " Martha, Martha, you are troubled and uneasy about many things. Only one thing is needed." (Luke 10:41 - 42) The one thing is to trust completely in God in a childlike way. Something happens and you are upset. You are easily shaken and away from your confidence in God. Do you think God is not in control? Do you think He does not care? The less you have to hold onto, the happier you will be. Your mind, in holding onto its thoughts and reasoning's, will torment you. If you can't see past men to God, you will encounter much turmoil.

Know that God loves you. He runs like a shepherd who tires himself out to find his strayed lamb. He Himself obeyed God to His death. Rest in God's hands.

The future is God's. Live with God in the present moment. Live you daily life out in the presence of God. He will give you all that you need."

I am resting in God... the future is God's.

Christmas Day

Merry Christmas.

A quiet day with family. This morning, I read from The Message, a contemporary version of the New Testament. When I was reading the first three chapters of Luke it gave me a fresh perspective of the birth of Jesus. I never want to take for granted gospel and what it means now and for eternity. In the midst of an uncertain world, I am trusting in a faithful Savior, His Word, and His promises.
Here are some pictures from Christmas.
My sweet pea ( my daughter) taught me how to create this blog.. how to write text, check spelling, add pictures, and some more stuff I hope I don't forget.
