These friends are dear. Earlier this month, we attended a wedding. It was a joyous occasion.
My cousins (sisters) are on the left and right. In the middle, our friend looking marvelous.
Each summer, my siblings and I stayed with our grandparents while our parents worked. We enjoyed watching black and white television, playing outside, games of checkers, and stories told by our grandfather.
Grandpa told stories of growing up in Jeffersonville, Indiana, school plays, and his time as a Buffalo Soldier. It would not be until many years later my siblings and I realized significance of his contributions in the Army.
Grandpa would tell the same stories over and over. I wish I had asked his about how he traveled or what he ate. I never asked those questions .
I am grateful for what I do remember... Buffalo Soldiers chasing Pancho Villa. In the telling of the stories many years later, Grandpa was not entirely convinced of the merit of the mission. As a little girl, it was difficult for me to imagine my grandpa chasing anyone. A child's eyes... I was had a comfortable seat while he was sharing history.

This breed is the favorite of Queen Elizabeth II of England. Queen Elizabeth has owned more than 30 Corgis since she became Queen in 1952. The temperament of a Corgis are described as playful, tenacious, friendly, outgoing, bold, and protective. Their colors: Fawn, Black and Tan, Black and White, and Red.

Earlier this month, I joined the Revive our Hearts Kindness Challenge. Each day for thirty days each person commits to saying only kinds words. This challenge can be focused to speak only kind words to a spouse, parent, child or friend. The challenge also encourages us to be intentional about doing kind deeds.
During the weekdays, Revive our Hearts offers a Livestream on You Tube that is posted at 9:00 am (EST) . The program offers encouragement, practical advice and spiritual grounding to assist those who have accepted the challenge. This morning's speaker was Shaunti Feldhahn. She stated, "Kindness has the power to transform relationships."
While, Shaunti Feldhahn was today's speaker, each of the You Tube segments is so helpful.
Who is Shaunti Feldhahn? She is the author of the Kindness Challenge: Thirty Day to Improve Any Relationship. She is a Social Researcher and a graduate of Harvard University. I highly recommend you view today's program on You Tube. It will be well worth you time.

While the challenge is for one month, I hope everyone will continue the practice every day.
Four years ago, we were enjoying our vacation in Charleston, South Carolina. I was planning to attend a baby shower at a local restaurant. Instead of attending a baby shower, I was waiting in the hospital for the early arrival of our granddaughter. Today we are celebrating her birthday.
Yesterday, we attended her Splash Birthday Party at a local park. The fun began at 9:30 a.m. It was a morning filled friends, family, splashing, squeals of laughter, donuts, bagels, juice, and birthday treats.
After the party it was clean up and time for rest.
Last week's wedding message to the couple, is found in Luke 27:10b. While the message was intended for the couple, I find the message extends beyond the couple and is universally true for every person,

It was a joy to be a attend this lovely wedding.
