to know the love of Christ ...

"... and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus in all generations forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:19 - 20

Pet of the week, Biscuit

People say “money can’t buy happiness” have never paid an adoption fee.

Author unknown

Rescued pets seem to have a special appreciation for a loving home. Having been rejected, they are loyal and loving pets. This week's pet is Biscuit who was rescued by my friend Kathy.

Monday Musings, 2014 Little League World Series

“A life is not important except the impact it has on other lives.”
Jackie Robinson

Thirteen young baseball players from the South Side of Chicago have inspired a community, a city, and a state. Yesterday, the Jackie Robinson West Little League played in the 2014 Little League championship game. While the team left short of winning, they played with skill, determination, and commitment.

Jackie Robinson’s daughter Sharon said it well, “They have already won.  They won our hearts.”

The final score South Korea 8 Jackie Robinson West 4

I was cheering yesterday. I am cheering today.  Well-done team.

so why should I be afraid?

The LORD is my light and my salvation
so why should I be afraid?
The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble?
When evil people come to devour me,
when my enemies and foes attack me,
They will stumble and fall.
Though a mighty army surrounds me,
my heart will not be afraid.
Even if I am attacked,
I will remain confident .

The one thing I ask of the LORD –
the thing I seek most –
is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
delighting in the LORD’s perfections
and meditating in his Temple.
For he will conceal me there when troubles come;
He will hide me in his sanctuary.
He will place me out of reach on a high rock.
Then I will hold my head high
above my enemies who surround me.
At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy,
singing and praising the LORD with music.

Psalm 27: 1 – 6  ( NLT)
