St. Francis of Assisi

"Great and glorious God, and Thou Lord Jesus, I pray you shed abroad your light in the darkness of my mind.  Be found of me, Lord, so that in things I may act only in accordance with Thy holy will."

Play

"Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning."
Fred Rogers

Playing and learning are intertwined. When you visit a well- designed early childhood classroom you will see carefully designed learning centers.

While classrooms are wonderful... outdoor play may offer a safe place to have fun with friends and learn.

What I like about 7-Eleven

Today, was the first time I have shopped in a 7-Eleven in a long time. Visiting the 7 - Eleven in Colorado was like shopping there for the first time. Everything about today's experience was exceptional.

One YouTube reviewer list 10 reasons Why the Rise of 7-Eleven is so AMAZING! Here are few of  reasons from that video.

  • Grab and Go
  • Competitive Prices
  • Convenience
  • Part of America Culture
  • Exclusive Products ( Slurpees and their own make up brand!)

While these reasons are excellent, here is my reason for loving 7-Eleven... the clean bathrooms and soap! The words on the soap dispenser says it all... 7 -Eleven Cares for your health. I hope every 7-Eleven has the same excellent standards of health and cleanliness.  What do you think?

God is a promise keeper

Before the flood... people were violent,  mean  and wicked to one another... God saw Noah a righteous man

God told Noah to build an ark...

God's gracious promise to humankind after the flood... after the flood a beautiful rainbow in the sky as a covenant   that God would  never flood the entire earth.  This was today's message in Wee Praise... God is a promise keeper.

Children sang songs, put animals on the ark, and played musical instruments. It was a sweet time... A timely reminder... God love us... God's keeps promises... even we we fail keep our word... God does. God is a promise keeper.

I love the fabric that illustrated the waves and the flood. Are you able to see the animals?

Saturday

Walking into the room, you spot a small table with a tiny Lego Spider man car, pillows on stools, a large puzzle box, a pineapple water bottle, a brown skin doll with corkscrew hair, Birdie slippers, shoes, empty carry out drink containers, books, a dinosaur bracelet, a rainbow swim bag, blankets, half-filled water bottles, a unicorn nightlight, books, Bible, and a desk filled with paper, a notebook…

A few hours ago, the space was filled with the voices of grandparents and a child preparing for the evening ahead with families and friends.

Now the space, is filled with silence except for the quite hum of the air conditioner.

Thrifty Thursday ... Birdies

Guess where I was this week?  1/2 of 1/2 Name Brand Clothing. The last time I was shopping I purchased my first pair pf Jambu shoes.  This week, I purchased my second pair. They are so cute and comfy! Bargain hunting for the WIN.

I made another  sweet  purchase from 1/2 of 1/2 of Name Brand Clothing ... My first pair of Birdies.  What are Birdies? This is from their website: "Whether you're a super mom, a work-from-home warrior, or simply someone in search of flats as comfy as they are chic."

Their website is a treasure trove of great info!  Check out Birdies. What kinds of shoes... slides, sneakers, flats, and even shoes that are washable. Most of the shoes that are available are over $100.  Can you see the discount tag?  They were marked for a great discount of $50.00 Yet,  I was able to purchase these cute slides for $33 at 1/2 of 1/2 Name Brand Clothing

I needed a pair of cute house slippers. Each time we come home, we slip off our street shoes. Our shoes remain at the back door. Typically, we are in socks or slippers. What about you? Do you need some nice house slippers? You might find some in the clearance section in a shoe department.

Joy

 "I'm so thankful that I have joy that the world can not rob me of;

I have treasure that the world can not take from me;

I have something that is not in the power of man or devil to deprive me of, and that is

the JOY OF THE LORD."

Raleigh

This week's pet is Raleigh a Golden Retriever. This breed is are known for their gentle disposition and keen intelligence.  Thus Goldens are almost perfect. Hubby says there is only one flaw of this breed.  They shed hair so much.

Pets bring us such comfort and joy.

Libraries are a wonderful resource for our communities. Did you know you are able to suggest books that the library may purchase? Don't hesitate to suggest books of faith.

Are you looking for a magazine or newspaper? Visit the periodical section of the library. Why buy an expensive magazine. Check out a digital copy!

Monday Musings ... brothers

"How do people make it through life without a brother?"

These two brothers are such a blessing to me.

I am fortunate to have three big brothers. Here is a recent picture of two of my brothers. I am indeed blessed. I love celebrating birthdays! 🎂🍨🎈

Spread love everywhere ...

"Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own house. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor ... Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting."

Tuesday Tea at Two for Two

I have enjoyed countless teas with my friend.  Later this week, she will move out of state.  I am so grateful  that we had the opportunity to reconnect this afternoon.

It is always good to chat over a cup of tea. In the heat what is better than a nice glass of iced herbal tea?

Max

Max ... there is something about his name that conjures up feelings of nobility, mixed with strength,  and a  touch of whatever. Max is probably thinking, "Ok, take my picture. I will only pose for another minute."

Over the years, I have met so many pet owners who have graciously allowed me take pictures of the pets.
