Monday Musings

Do you ever think about how the Bible was translated into English? Do you own a Bible? If you own a Bible, what is the translation of your  Bible?

As a part of my summer reading list, I have added a book, Verily, Verily, The KJV - 400 Years of Influence and Beauty by Jon Sweeney.  This book is a small treasure filled facts about how the  Bible was translated into English.

"It is difficult to imagine how it was once possible for nation to imprison and even execute its citizens for the crime of translating the Bible, but that's  precisely what happened in England, one of the most civilized places on the earth, for about 150 years." J. Sweeney.

It is a joy to know that individuals continue to translate to Bible into languages so people may have the Word of God in their own language.

Interested in knowing about about Bible translators? Discovering more about John Wycliffe's life may be a great beginning. The Wycliffe organization Vision  ~ God's Word accessible to all people in the language of their heart.  That is a God size goal.

Thanks to Gail, I have book darts to  keep my place in my books.
