Pet of the week, Rumi

The pet of the week is Rumi.  In this picture, Brenda is holding her new puppy. 

Brenda shares, "Rumi is a bundle of joy."

Visiting over our lunch on Tuesday, Brenda shares what is happening her in life. She is enjoying her life and her new puppy. A part of her life includes tending to the needs Rumi.  

How do I know Brenda?
Brenda and I become friends as a result of our membership in Newcomers of Lexington. Then, we were members of a Cooking Light group. Today, we  are committed volunteers who teach English and serve as volunteers in the UK's International Host Program. 

We love international students. Growing up in a vanilla and chocolate world, we experienced little diversity in our schools. Today, we are both amazed that we have a passion to serve international students. 

Friendships need intentional care. I love reconnecting with Brenda.
