Monday Musings

One unexpected gift of marriage is the blessing of my husband’s family. Over the past thirty-eight years, I have grown to appreciate and love my extended family Celebrations are sweeter when we share them with family. Grief shared is more bearable.

Last Saturday was one of the times, when family comes together at Rex’s funeral. It was a tender time of tears, songs, memories, laughter, and scriptures. Funerals are sobering as we reflect on our mortality and the legacy we would like to leave.  Most of all, death reminds me to appreciate the gift of eternal life that Jesus offers to those who believe.  We celebrate Rex is now celebrating eternal life in heaven.

I continue to be amazed at the grace and love that Rex ‘s ex-wife displayed.  Her loving details for each part of the service was amazing.  Arranging for the details of a funeral service is never easy. Yet, Capri and her children displayed courage and strength. The love of God was displayed beautifully in their lives.

Please pray for Rex's ex wife, Capri his daughters, Cherrell and Brittany and his son Reggie, his brothers, sisters, cousins, and friends.

Love never fails…

  1. Thank you so much Jacqueline ❤️️. I can only thank God for this loving heart He has placed in me to love everyone and to see others through God's eyes. We all truly loved Rex and he will definitely be missed. God knows it's going to take time for our children and all of us to heal from this, but just knowing he's with Jesus gives me great joy that he made it! I love you and thank you so much for sharing this beautiful story about our beloved Rex who truly lived, laughed and loved in all of our hearts ❤️️
