Pets of the week, Jake and Duncan

Special thanks to Libby for sharing the story and pictures of her  Paris Pets!  Libby and her family live in Paris, Kentucky. Here is their story.

"Jake is a full blooded yellow lab...just turned 14 in Jan.   He is the sweetest thing ever.  We got him when he was 7 weeks old but picked him out of a litter of 8 when he was just a month old.   According to his breeder, Jake only has 1 sibling left.  His eyesight is going bad, hips weak and can't hear a lick!  But he keeps on going - he loves people and my kids were raised with him.  In all the 14 years - I have never seen him growl or show any signs of anger......that says a lot!  He loves people....if you move an inch, he is right behind you....One strange thing about Jake is he has never loved water...which is odd for a Lab.  But one thing his traits did have was he loves to chew (every since we brought him home)....he went thru our children's bike pedals, front porch railings, wooden rockers, shoes, garage door security devices, brooms, toys every Christmas toy  lasted 30 min) and many many more things...  He is getting tired in his old age - his bark has quietened and yarns alot.....but he still does the back rub from side to side on the grass which let's us know he is having a good day."

Duncan (named after a street we onced lived) was a gift from God....one day, about 5 years ago during the summer, we (Keith and I) were walking in the cemetary in Paris and noticed something moving over next to a bush......as we walked closer - we saw 7 kittens and 2 mommas....someone had dumped food on the ground and put a cool whip bowl of water there.  The kittens were young (like 2 weeks old)...So we call PAWS (humane society in Paris) and they said they were "full".  So you guessed it....we took all 9 cats home...we had the mommas fixed and all 7 kittens wormed and got their shots.   We eventually gave all away.....Duncan was the only gray cat and we kept him....he is rotten, loves to be loved on and finds joy in sleeping in a box with a towel in our garage...Jake and him are big buds...Jake accepts Duncan but not any other cat(s).  They often lay beside each other when it is chilly...it is so cute."

Libby  thank you for sharing the sweet story and pictures of Jake and Duncan.
