Words

According to recent research study from the University of Maryland ‘s College of Medicine, women speak nearly 20,000 words a day. In contrast, men are reported to speak approximately 7,000 words a day.  Depending on our life circumstances, I am sure the number of words we speak vary from person to person or from profession to profession.

Words… Small conversations may be the catalyst to help someone endure a struggle. At another time, we may sit in silence, as a friend vents.  Our friends and family may need a safe place. Sometimes they may need the gift of silence.

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”
Leo Buscaglia
