Hmm...

Hit N Run Evangelism
What do you think about leaving tracts?  Do people leave tracts in place of tips? I confess, I leave tracts... but I tip well... I try to leave something nice with the tract... here is what I left at a hotel....a small diet drink...and a tract... Brent, what do you think?

  1. I know how kind you are and how warm you are relationally, so this 'feels' different because it's you and accompanied by another gift.

Generally, I think that there was a mindset in Christian circles, that if a Christian witnessed and 'saved just one', it was worth it. My sense now, is a different question is being asked: 'how many people are being put off by Christianity?' by the acts of its followers. While leaving certain tracts isn't as off-putting as other actions, I think it generally alienates younger generations. And I've had a sister that has received tracts that are pretend dollar bill denominations (and she said tips after church are the worst the whole week). You're breaking two of the worst offenses.

I had primarily thought of tracts as Hit N' Run evangelism, where people wouldn't 'stay' in conversation or relationship to talk through faith. In America, I see a lot of non-Christians huddled together and Christians huddled together but in Europe I saw a much more honest conversation about faith between both without condemnation and judgment. I've heard different stories about Europe...but I was impressed to hear several meaningful conversations at a party.

This is just my experience. I think you and your husband are some of the kindest people I've met.

  2. I agree with you regarding relationships …We must develop relationships to gain the opportunity to be heard (do that make sense?) I rest in the truth that God is sovereign. hope we visit with you soon...
