Pet of the week, Chatham

I spotted a Golden Retriever on the University of Kentucky's campus during Move In Day for freshman. Chatham is the pet of the week.  While Chatham will not be attending UK this semester, her owner is preparing for her first semester.

I asked Fiona, "May I take a picture of your dog?"  She says... "Chatham, you are going to be the pet of the week."  I don't think Chatham is impressed.
Fiona's sister will begin her studies at UK this month.
Chatham is named for the city in Massachusetts.

Thursday Tea with trusted friends

Tea Friends …
I am fortunate to have friends who love tea as much as I do.  More importantly, we share of love of God, His word and the power of prayer.

This afternoon, we were able to enjoy tea, conversation, and prayer.
Freshly squeezed grape juice... sooo delicious.
Special thanks to our hostess

Thirty-six post it notes, a purple ink pen and roses

Sometimes post it notes are a sweet substitute for a greeting card. Use the post it notes to be creative and express your feelings. Want to make it extra special? Use a purple ink pen. J

What would I write on 36 post it notes to mark our anniversary? I began by writing scriptures from Chapter 13 of I Corinthians. After writing the scriptures, I decided to write different milestones from our marriage.  Where we met, pre marital counseling, New Hope United Methodist Church, our wedding, the honeymoon, our first apartment, our first home, the birth of our children, travel, vacations, our life, our memories…

God has allowed life circumstances and challenges to shape us and develop us.  Our character has grown over the years.

God is faithful.

Monday Musings...marriage

"A good husband makes a good wife."
John Florio

Tomorrow we will celebrate 36 years of marriage.
It is not because we are good.... it is because we serve
a good and generous God.

We can rejoice

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they
help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character,
and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Romans. 5:3 - 5
