A shimmering
piece of fabric is on a remnant table. It is one of many piece goods that are
piled high on a “bargain” table. Customers
browse the items and envision how they might use the different
pieces. In their minds, they are
creating dresses, window treatments, bags, and pillows.
My friend,
Vanessa, is a genius in discovering unique ways to use scraps. As a child, Vanessa's mother was instrumental in teaching her how to sew. Her mother was also key in demonstrating how to use scraps of materials to create quilts.
In this particular piece, she transformed a remnant into an evening gown.
This is an
example of what Albert Einstein said, “ Creativity is intelligence having fun."
