This week’s pet
is a cockatiel named Jacob. Jacob’s owner graciously allowed me takes these
pictures. She (Jacob’s owner) is lovely. I met her and
her friends at a local restaurant. They
were preparing to enjoy their brunch on the patio.
I have met some wonderful people as the result
of my desire to feature a pet of the week. Pet owners are some of the most

According to Lafeber, cockatiels are cuddly, outgoing, and comical. These qualities may
be the reason why this species is the #1 pet bird in America.
It has been a
long time since a bird has been a pet of the week. J
