Ok... technically horses are not pets. I do live in Lexington which is the Horse Capital of the World.
This week it is all about thoroughbred horses. Last month, I visited Keeneland to see horses prepared for the annual September Yearling Sale. According to an article written by Janet Patton a reporter for the Herald Leader, she states, “If the Kentucky Derby is the most exciting two minutes in racing for the horse owner, then the September Yearling Sale might be the most agonizing. “

She continues, “Years of planning
and financial and emotional investment ride on catching the right potential
buyer’s eye in a few moments in the auction ring.” I cannot image the stress owners
must face as they endure the auction. Each year millions of dollars are
invested in purchasing thoroughbreds.
Last month, I took pictures of the horses around their paddocks. These noble animals must be
seen in person to appreciate their beauty. God created such beauty in these creatures. See the white tags on the horse? It is their for number for the auction.
