Here is the door to the office where I work. Scattered on the surface of the door are some of the following words, tolerance, compassion, acceptance, love, kindness, and respect. At the very top of the door in large letters is the phrase, HATE FREE SPACE. In this office, those words are taken seriously. I work to be a pratical expression of the words displayed.
Inside the office, poster size advice covers one entire wall. After three years in this office, I pay little attention to the the many messages fixed on each of the posters.
On most days the angst of high school is under control. Students hurry to classes, talk to friends, text messages, and run to catch up with friends . For the most part, school goes pretty smoothly most days.
Outside the door..the hall is empty.. students in classes...
