Friendship Friday

"There is nothing in the world better than a friend, unless it is a friend
with chocolate."
Linda Grayson

I am humble by God's many gifts to me. I count friends as gifts from God.
I appreciate 'L''s  faithful obedience to the Lord Jesus.   She is a also a loving daughter, wife, mother, and sister. I am grateful to call her friend.  She is a blessing to many as she serves at our church.

Earlier this week, we distributed Valentine bags to Read to Succeed students. Each of the students received a sweet bag of treats.

Myth, Legends, and Celebrations

Today, we celebrated Valentine's Day like millions of other Americans. We exchanged cards and enjoyed a delicious dinner. Our son blessed with a gift certificate to a local restaurant.

Beyond the candy,  flowers and cards  is there special significance to this holiday?

According to the Voice of the Martys, this is an interesting history to this holiday.

Voice of the Martyrs has produced a  series of children's books that share stories of  of individuals who lived lives of extraordinary courage and faith. One of the books in the series is about Valentinus.

You will find details about the real Valentine story at their website.
