According to their website, Jameson Tavern is one of the oldest operating taverns in Maine. In addition, the DAR (Daughters of American Revolution) have placed a monument in the garden of the restaurant naming this tavern as the Birthplace of Maine.


If you visit Maine, I hope you will stop in Freeport.
