Why do we
love books clubs? The reasons we love
book clubs are as varied as members. As for me, I enjoy rich discussions as we dig
into each book.

I think clubs
have an appeal for women as we strive for work and life balance. Our club offers women a space to breathe deeply, relax and reconnect with friends. As women we spin so
many plates in our lives. As we spin each plate, we try to keep everything from
spinning out of control. Reading allows
us to slow down.
I agree with
Nathan Heller’s when he states in his online piece, Book Clubs Why do we love them so much? Is it the
zucchini bread? …“Book clubs are one
effort to set up community in the landscape. They are our bid to stay on the same page across the blur of modern life.”
Most of all
I agree with what C.H. Spurgeon said,
“Visit many good books but live in the Bible.” C.H. Spurgeon
