Pets of the week

I met these adorable pets at a
local Kroger. Sadly, I lost their names.
I am grateful that pet owners are often gracious
and willing to share a moment of conversation.
This lady is a widow. Her pets have been helpful as
companions after the death of her husband.
Do you know someone who
has  recently lost a loved one?
They might welcome a call or note from you.

"If you want someone who acts as if every word you say is especially worthy of listening to and loves you unconditionally:
Buy a dog."

A thankful heart

“The unthankful heart … discovers no mercies; but let the thankful heart sweep through the day and, as the magnet finds the iron, so it will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings!"

Henry Ward Beecher

Pet of the week, Alvin

Adorable Alvin is this week's pet! What a cutie! Barbara uses the following adjectives to describe Alvin... loyal, playful, hyper, and affectionate.  Alvin often follows her around her home all day.  If she is resting he will be sitting  at her feet. By the way, do you remember the Bubbles the Pug? Well, they live in the same household.

Barbara and her daughter are the owners of Alvin. Barbara is a committed Christian, loving mother, friend, and most recently a teacher for a  Bible Study during Wednesday night. Her amazing daughter is student at a local high school. I has been a joy to see this family serving at church.

Last month, I joined Barbara and other church members as we participated in a prayer walk. I look forward to joining her and other church members during our next outreach effort.
