Sunday Scripture

How lovely is Your tabernacle,
O Lord of hosts!
My soul longs, yes, even faints
For the courts of the LORD;
My heart and flesh cry out for the living God.

Even the sparrow has found a home,
And the swallow a nest for herself,
Where she may lay her young –
Even Your altars; O Lord of hosts.
My King and my God
Blessed are those who dwell in Your house
They will still be praising You. Selah

O Lord of God of hosts, hear my prayer;
Give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah
O God, behold our shield.
And look upon the face of Your anointed.

For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
The Lord will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.

O Lord of hosts
Blessed is the man who trusts in You

Pet of the week, Moo Moo

Moo Moo is the pet of the week. I met this feisty little dog outside a local store.  She was barking so much, I did not know if I would be able to snap a good photo. It has been my experience that small dogs are often barkers. Has that been your experience as well?

Full of energy and personality, Moo Moo is cute.  The owner graciously allowed me to take several pictures. I wonder if Moo Moo's name is related to her markings of white and brown.

Challenge yourself

"I think self-discipline is something like a muscle. The more you exercise, the stronger it gets.
Daniel Goldstein

For the past two years, I faithfully attend a water fitness class. When I enrolled in classes in January of 2013, I did not think I could survive the first class. It was so challenging. I was so out of shape.  I was determined not to give up.

What determines if we stick with an exercise program? For me, my health has been the motivator. I have always exercised, but until 2013, I did not participate in classes.  Part of my daily routine was walking . Then, we purchased a elliptical machine. I did it at my pace. Not very challenging!
In, Tennessee, I earned this shirt
by walking daily for 1 year.

Once I joined a class, I had to follow instructions and try to keep up.  My first instructor was nice, but not challenging.  That was good.  I was physically weak. Since then, our class has had several different instructors.  Now, our class is fortunate to have  a wonderful motivator/teacher. She is challenging and keeps it moving.

Studies suggest that having exercise buddies helps individuals continue in a program. I think the right instructor makes the difference as well.

Tasty Tuesday

Petit fours ...
Petit fours come in assorted varieties.  Do you know the type of petit four in this photo?
“Petit fours were traditionally made in a smaller oven next to the main oven. In the 18th century some bakers made them during the cooling process of the coal fired brick ovens to take advantage of their stored heat, thus exploiting coal’s high burning temperature and economizing it high expense relative to wood." Monday Musings

Design your day!
On most days, I create a “To Do List” I love using my purple pen to make a check after a task has been completed. Now, I am challenging myself to list “Big” goals.

Why settle for mediocre goals? Tackle the unfinished project. Discard or recycle those items that have outlived or served their purpose in your life. Choose to make a difference.

Ask God for a God size goal for your life.
Tonight .. MK Sisters we set goals for our 2015-2016  year!
Check out this site for free tools to help you design your day... Not a young mom? Tweak it to make it fit your life. DESIGN Your Day

Sunday Scripture

I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding .For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ returns. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation –the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ  - for this will bring much praise and Glory to God.

Philippians 1:9 -12 (NLT)
